19" Fluorescent Ring Light

Taking a look at a generic 19" Ring light that uses a 5600 Degree Kelvin bulb rated at 75 wattsIt came with a nice diffuser that is attached to the ring via velcro and it throws a generous amount of light. The main section of the video was shot with the Ring Light on Full Power, about 4 feet from the subject, I used a 28-70mm F2.8 wide open at F2.8 and focal length of 50mm, Shutter speed of 1/50 and ASA/ISO 250. I also use a couple of non traditional lights during this video both with the ring light and by itself . I used my Rode SmartLav+ plugged into an adapter then directly into the Sony A7 and a Sigma 60mm F2.8 Art Lens in Full Frame mode hence the slight vignette in the corners. My choice of hats was unfortunate as here and there in the video you get an eye full of moire. While this is much more powerful than the Ring48 it's also NOT something you can use without power , better suited to use in the studio whereas the BestLight Ring48 can be run off 2 AA batteries. Sony A7 Full Frame Vs Crop Frame in Video mode and more

I was curious wether there was any difference shooting 1080P video on the A7 in Crop mode Vs Full Frame Mode so shot this video. I'll let you guys decide what you think. I shot the entire video using a modified Sigma 60mm F2.8 Art Lens. I shot wide open and at 1/50 shutter speed. After comparing Full Frame to Crop Mode I then grabbed a Vivitar .43 Wide Angle Adapter and screwed it onto the end of the lens and compared again. The video with this adapter is remarkably good. Again I'll let you make your own decision of course.
