For the second year in a row, Marshmello took home the award for Favorite Artist – Electronic Dance Music at the American Music Awards (AMAs). Contrary to other major music awards programs, the AMAs allow fans to vote on who they think should take home the prizes.
This year, 'Mello beat out both Avicii and The Chainsmokers to take the crown, while last year he beat out the latter and the Zedd. With this win, he is now tied for the most wins for the award with both Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers.
On Twitter, the masked EDM superstar shared news of his win and thanked both the AMAs and his fans for voting him into the top spot.
In addition to his win, he was also nominated for Collaboration of the Year for his track "Happier" with Bastille but ultimately lost out to Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.
The 47th Annual American Music Awards took place on November 24th at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. To view the entire list of winners head over to the AMAs website.
