Ursuline Convent in New Orleans on Rue Chartres in the French Quarter. Watch this on your IOS or Android device and look around . It's not quite a full 360 degrees but there's plenty of coverage. Vivitar .43 Wide Angle Adapter on Sigma 60mm Art Lens on Sony A7 in Full Frame mode

Fooling about with the Vivitar .43 wide angle adapter once again. This time we have it on the Sigma 60mm F.28 Art Lens, it brings it down to 25.8 mm. changing it from a short telephoto to a medium wide angle prime lens. These Vivitar adapters are under $20 plus a few dollars for the ring adapters for various lenses. We have this on the Sony A7 and shooting it in Full Frame mode. We left the footage as is so you can see how much or how little depending on your point of view, that it vignette's We did a single point of light, the Neewer CN-160 LED directly on the A7 via the hot shoe and we used the Yellow/Orang filter thats included with it to warm thing up a bit. I'm truly amazed how well this screw on adapter works.

MXL 990 Mic Vs Audio Technica AT2020 Large Diaphragm Condensor Mic

This week we pit two more Large Diaphragm Condensor Mic's against each other, In this Corner the MXL 990 and in the opposite corner the Audio-Technica AT2020. I plugged each into the iRig Pre, then into a Rode SC3 adapter and straight into the Sony A7. I shot with the Sigma 60mm Art lens wide open at F2.8 and 1/50 shutter speed. I Believe it was at ASA 800 . Take a look and a listen and see which you prefer. Both these XLR mics seem to sell for the same $99 usually tho the MXL is often discounted and sometimes sold in a set with the MXL 991. I don't think you can go far astray for Voice Over work with either of these microphones but perhaps you will hear something to sway you one way or the other when deciding on a Voice Over mic.

Sony SEL16F28 on Sony A7 in Full Frame

As usual I'm doing things that were never meant to be done, I'm taking the Sony 16mm F2.8 Pancake lens and using it in Full Frame mode on my A7 even tho ithe Sony SEL16F28 is designed for a Crop sensor camera.A combination of saling the image up a bit and changing to CinemaScope Aspect Ratio works wonders or simply scaling up 130% works well too. Then there's the same "Hack" as I've done on my Sigma 60mm Art Lens which is to remove the rear plastic baffle and it opens things up a fair amount. It still vignette's but is useable in my opinion.Removing the baffle MAY cause issues but thus far in months of using the Sigma this way I've yet to have any issues so am optimistic.
