SJ4000 Action Cam Converted to use C Mount Lenses

SJ4000 Action Cam Converted to use C Mount Lenses , took a $35 SJ4000 clone from China and adapted it to mount C mount Lenses on it. In the footage Shown I use the Fujian 35mm F1.7 C Mount Lens on the Converted Action Cam.This is an inexpensive new manufacture lens selling for about $25 on Ebay. The small Sensor on the camera gives you a 5.2 times crop value making this 35mm more like a 182mm Field of View. As you can see this was a fairly simple conversion requiring a $12 M12 to C mount adapter off Ebay also direct from China. In the past I'd swapped out the original 2.8mm lens from this camera with a 6mm with no IR block on it to allow Full Spectrum Shooting. I find this $35 SJ4000 cone the perfect platform for experimentation. Putting a C mount on this camera opens a world of possibilities with this camera for eliminating Fisheye and much more. Full Spectrum SJ4000 Action Cam plus SolarForce L2 with IR insert YAY Nightvision Take 2

Full Spectrum SJ4000 Action Cam plus SolarForce L2 with IR insert YAY Nightvision Take 2 , I took a Clone of the SJCam SJ4000 and converted it to Full Spectrum. This allows me to shoot in pitch darkness while using an Infrared light source which is unseen by human eyes but the converted camera picks up quite readily. This was a relatively simple conversion and took me under 10 minutes to do. Local folks talking about forming a Ghost Hunting/Paranormal Group and it piqued my interest so tried to do this as inexpensively as possible and think I succeeded quite well. The Camera still needs some tweaking in the Focus department. Suprised that GoPro hasn't jumped on this bandwagon. Maybe make one called the GoPro NightShot for the folks who don't ant to gut their camera to do this. Perhaps include a Cage and a Screw on IR Block filter for daylight use. I was SHOCKED at how bright the SolarForce L2 with the Infrared Bulb assembly was, my initial attempts were blowing out facial fewatures. Once I moved the light back 7-8 feet from the subject it looks alot better and covers a larger area to boot. Any of you in the local area wishing your Action Cam to be converted, I'd likel do it for $50 or so unlike the Conversions for DSLR's that cost nearly $300 Thanks for visiting! Full Spectrum SJ4000 Action Cam plus SolarForce L2 with IR insert YAY Nightvision

Full Spectrum SJ4000 Action Cam plus SolarForce L2 with IR insert YAY Nightvision , Found out that these action camera's are fairly simple to convert to Full Spectrum to allow shooting in Pitch Darkness and still capture very useable footage once an Infrared Light Source is employed so decided to do one. Here's our First test, alas we had the IR light a bit too close so blew out the face. More experimentation is needed. Should we do more videos along this line or stick to Tarot/Horoscope and Games? Let us knopw in the comments below.
