Control Alchemy and other Garageband IOS sounds using an inexpensive Keytar
Control Alchemy and other Garageband IOS sounds using an inexpensive Keytar from MadCatz for the Rock Band 3 game. In my case I used the XBox version. I also plug this straight into my Korg Volca FM and play it.Back in the 80’s I had LUST for a Keytar, I never would have thought I could buy one for $30 EVER! I used the Launchpad Pro as a USB to MIDI Interface into the iPad running Garageband. Please subscribe and give us a thumbs up. Thanks for watching.

Using an inexpensive audio splitter to split your MIDI outputs to Synths...
Using an inexpensive audio splitter to split your MIDI outputs to Synths etc That little purple splitter came in VERY handy to send the output of the Novation Launchpad Pro signal to both the Korg Volca FM and my IK Multimedia Uno Synth. Used a nice Bass patch on the Uno and an “Oberheim” like Patch on the FM. This little video I shot showed me I should really grab the Solderless MIDI Out Adapter for the Volca FM so I can use it as a Sequencer for the Uno too since the Uno alas lacks the ability to chain patterns currently.

Korg Volca FM controlled by Novation Launchpad Pro
Kong Volca FM controlled by Novation Launchpad Pro some pointless fun using the Launchpad Pro instead of the Volca FM’s Keyboard. Just got this wee FM Synth and having a bit of fun DAWless.

Drum Perfect Pro Fun with Drums
Drum Perfect Pro Fun with Drums just a quick fool around in the app with Jam, Velocity, Time Shift and Swing settings while a sequence plays. Effects were added in Garageband including some of TC Helicon VoiceRack:FX. I can’t wait to try the IK Multimedia Uno Drum connected to this app and XDrummer as well. Please subscribe and we hope you enjoy this quick little beat.

Time for some Jigs and Reels?
Someone was talking about Traditional Irish songs the other day either the Garageband Users or the iPad Musician group n now I got a bee in my bonnet. Last recording I did playing Mandolin was on Finnegan’s Wake waaaaay back in the 90’s
Methinks I’m overdue an album or three of Jigs, Reels and other traditional tunes.
Yeah, did a recording of The Blarney Pilgrim last night. It’s on like Donkey Kong!

The Blarney Pilgrim Old Traditional Song reimagined
The Blarney Pilgrim Old Traditional Song reimagined by Kwekwe Karu on an iPad and various apps. Had a lot of fun reimagining this old standard. Pretty sure a Pan Flute and a Nylon string guitar not usually in the mix. If I had new strings on my Mandolin I’d likely have used that instead of the Nylon string guitar. Hope you enjoy this quick old tune.

TC Helicon Perform VK and iPad Garageband
TC Helicon Perform VK and iPad Garageband work well together. The Perform VK works as a 4 in and 8 out USB Audio Interface as well as having effects like Harmony, Echo, Reverb and Pitch correction. Oddly Windows needs a device driver but Mac OSX and IOS devices it works as a Class Compliant device
