BBC hires red-hot writer for The Golden Compass TV adaptation

Prolific screenplay scribe Jack Thorne has been hired by the BBC to adapt Philip Pullman's epic His Dark Materials book trilogy, which begins production next year. BBC vets Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner will collaborate on the project.
