Note for others, send us a Press Release we will happily post it here. Tip.... If you price the rewards too high you'll have a harder time enticing contributors. IOW if you go over about $40 to get a physical copy of your movie. Many folks will not pledge. $40 is about what it costs for a couple to go to a movie and snacks. Those wanting $75 or $100 to get a DVD or Blu Ray of their film. I will not consider pledging. My 2 cents your mileage may vary.

Just went to the kickstarter site. Looks like there's less than $5000 to go for this project to get funded. Today is the last day so please consider going to kickstarter and pledging to help get this film made.

Took a peek at the page today and see 4 days left to the kickstarter campaign and only $19,000 to go to meet its goal of $50,000 to have this Realistic Slasher film  made. Go take a peek and please consider pledging. I did, so should you if you like Horror. :)

Just checked up on the Scythe - Realistic Slasher films Kickstarter and am happy to see they are just shy of 60% . I can't wait to see this film, the premise sounds fantastic and the Kickstarter is doing great. Go have a look and consider pledging and helping this project get made!

Scythe Kickstarter

Award winning writer/director Jim Rothman (I'm Not Matt Damon, Going Down There, Minutes) has created his fourth short film SCYTHE, which he plans to make into a feature film through a successful Kickstarter campaign, that is currently underway. 

The feature film SCYTHE is a psychological slasher/thriller in the spirit of Halloween, Saw & films directed by the great Alfred Hitchcock. 

Jim's film will modernize the slasher genre and have a human-interest, dramatic element that takes the time to focus on developing three dimensional characters that "actually have lives, that we actually care about." Painstaking research was utilized to avoid the annoying, eye-rolling horror film cliques the slasher genre is known for. The film is suspense-based, intensity-based, fear-based, not gore-based. 

The feature budget is $100,000. Jim and his team have already raised the first $50,000. They have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise another $50,000. The success of the campaign will allow them to shoot the film this year. 

The short version of SCYTHE premiered at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival. On April 8th, it will be screening at the 40th Cleveland International Film Festival. Indie Films

Was just watching some somewhat recent videos from Charles Band of Full Moon Features and in one from September 2015 he shares some rather sobering information which is that there's not much money in streaming. Hulu pays the princely sum of six cents per view. I wonder if playing on YouTube would net more or less since its long form video. I also wonder if Troma suffering the same woes. Very sobering. Now more than ever I'm glad I spend some money here and there to help horror films get made via Kickstarter.
