Zoom Versus Prime on the Sony A7

Zoom Versus Prime on the Sony A7 , We put the Tokina 28-70mm F2.8 ATX lens which was made back in 1990 for the Minolta Maxxum 35mm Stills cameras on a Sony LA-EA4 adapter and set it to about 60mm, you'll notice a difference in field of view. I left the Tripod in place and simply changed lenses, I also mounted the Tokina lens direct to the tripod as it's much larger to get better balance so the camera is in slightly different positions when shooting with it compared to the relatively small Sigma 60mm F2.8 Art lens which is an E mount lens NOT an FE mount lens. We shot both at F3.5 as the adapter maxes out at F3.5 in Video mode if you wish to use Autofocus. For Audio we used a Rode SmartLav+ Lavalier mic on my Lapel plugged into a TRRS to TRS adapter then directly into the Sony A7. We had the A7 set to ISO 320 for both lenses and shot 1/50 shutter speed 24 Frames per second in 1080P. We shot both lenses in Full frame mode, as you can see the Sigma which is designed for an APS-C sized sensor camera fared pretty well in Full frame mode. The tokina having been designed for 35mm Film is of course a Full Frame Lens . Please let us know what you think about these 2 lenses. The Tokina was purchased used for Peanuts and included 7 72mm Tiffen Filters, essentially the inclusion of those Filters almost made the Lens FREE. I paid a paltry $150 for it, the Sigma 60mm F2.8 Art Lens is a STEAL at $199 or so Brand new.Granted the Tokina is MUCH larger and Heavier than the Sigma even without the required adapter on it but it's my "Walking around" lens If you can only own 2 lenses for the Sony A7 I'd recommend the Tokina and the Minolta 70-210mm F4 "Beercan Lens , Both plus Adapter will be a fair bit less draining on your wallet than most FE mount lenses.
