MXL FR 310 Vs Takstar SGC 598 Shotgun Mic head to head some might say it's not fair pitting a $25-$40 Mic against a Mic that sells for $99-$150 but both are within reach of most filks. Both Mics were setup similarly, notch filter on and no Signal Boost. mounted on the Sony A7 and plugged directly into it. The camera and Shotgun Mics were about 6 feet away.
