Kayzo and Sullivan King Debut Remix of My Chemical Romance's Emo Anthem "Helena"

Kayzo and Sullivan King unleashed a remix of the emo classic "Helena" by My Chemical Romance at Lights All Night.

Emo fans were in for a treat during Kayzo's set at Lights All Night in Dallas, Texas on Friday, the 27th. During his performance, he dropped the remix of "Helena" by My Chemical Romance that he and Sullivan King have been teasing for some time now.

Keeping much of the original tune intact at the beginning of the remix, the product is a perfect singalong for those who said "it's not just a phase mom" growing up. What follows is a bouncy explosion of bass that immediately sent the crowd into a frenzy. It's easy to see how well the two artists work together as their styles mesh seamlessly.

Lights All Night took place December 27th and 28th at the Dallas Market Hall in Dallas, Texas. In addition to Kayzo, attendees got to see performances from Skrillex, Virtual Self, Bassnectar and more.

At the time of writing, it is not yet known when Kayzo and Sullivan King will release their "Helena" remix.

GRiZ Debuts Remix of Lizzo's "Good As Hell" at HiJinx 2019

GRiZ debuted a new remix of Lizzo's pop hit "Good As Hell" during his performance at the 2019 edition of HiJinx.

During his performance at HiJinx over the weekend, GRiZ dropped an unreleased remix of "Good As Hell" by Lizzo. While the shared clip of the debut is quite short, fans who weren't in attendance can still get a taste of the remix.

From the shared footage, it appears as though GRiZ (real name Grant Kwiecinski) is set to deliver a wobbly remix of the pop hit. The original vocals can be heard at the beginning of the clip leading up to a bass-filled breakdown. He teased it on Twitter the day before he took the stage, but fans didn't expect to see the new remix so soon.

Kwiecinski just celebrated another successful edition of his charitable 12 Days Of GRiZMAS festivities, which saw him host a multitude of performances and various activities in support of a local charity.

"Good As Hell" by Lizzo was released on October 7th, 2016. At the time of writing, Kwiecinski has not announced if he will be officially releasing his remix.

'90s Trance Legends Accuse Gatecrasher Staff of Assault

Signum and Binary Finary have publicly aired grievances with U.K. event brand Gatecrasher.

Following incidents that took place at the superclub Area Sheffield in Sheffield, England on the evening of December 28th, '90s trance mainstays Signum and Binary Finary have accused associates of promotional company Gatecrasher of physical assault. The event brand issued a statement in response denying any involvement in the altercation.

In a post to his Facebook page the morning of December 29th, Signum (real name Ronald Hagen) wrote that he and his agent had been pursuing Gatecrasher staff for money owed to them in the hours leading up to his set. "About half an hour before my set my bookingsagent was physically assaulted for trying to get the money that was owed to him," Hagen said. "And this was the final act of complete lack of respect which made me feel absolutely disgusted with everything. I would not be able to pretend all was good behind the decks anymore after this shit."

Binary Finary, who share the same agent, corroborated Hagen's allegations in their own Facebook post. "Not only did management refuse to pay our booking agent our final fee, they then turned to violence towards him by attacking him physically inside the venue leaving him badly beat up," the British trio wrote. "We kindly played an extended three-hour set to cover for Signum due to this incident and non payment as he left the event in disgust."

Gatecrasher subsequently issued a statement denying all wrongdoing on their part. "Gatecrasher can confirm an altercation did take place last night in the green room between an agent and one of his artists," reads a passage. "Security were called to intervene and promptly managed the incident. The altercation did not involve Gatecrasher or Area Club management."

The statement goes on to say that none of the artists commenting witnessed the incident and organizers will be able to provide surveillance camera footage if necessary.

Gatecrasher was initially the name of a 1993 one-off event in Tardebigge before expanding to include club nights throughout the West Midlands. The late '90s saw the opening of The Republic, later rebranded Gatecrasher One, a Sheffield nightclub with trance fixture Judge Jules as its resident DJ. In 1998, the event brand even teamed up with Ministry of Sound on an outdoor festival.

Declining attendance in the mid 2000s led Gatecrasher to focus more on club nights than one-off events, and a series of controversies has mired the brand in the 2010s. In 2013 the company entered administration after amassing debts in excess of £3.5 million according to the Birmingham Mail, and later that year they were charged £5,000 for selling fake alcohol at a Leeds nightclub per The Morning Advertiser.

Prior to the incident, Gatecrasher had canceled a December 27th event in Blackpool after changing location due to low ticket sales.

Flume is Aiming to Write an Album in Four Months

Flume has some ambitious goals set for 2020.

Flume is getting prepared to release a sophomore album in 2020. The Australian producer told Billboard in an interview he is going to be taking it easy until the new year, but is planning to go "all hands on deck" to record shortly thereafter.

The news has long been awaited by Flume's ever-growing fan base since the release of his debut album Skin in 2016. After a long break from releases, Flume (real name Harley Streten) appeased the demands of his fans this year with a mixtape, Hi This Is Flume, a move that took listeners by surprise.

Streten recently revealed he struggled with the pressures associated with calling a project an "album." Releasing a mixtape instead alleviated that pressure and helped him feel comfortable with the idea of putting out music again.

In the new interview, Streten said:

“At the start of the new year, I’m on a mission. I want to try and write a record in four months. I’m just going to chill until then, and then I’m just going all hands on deck, dedicate to getting it done. I’m planning on doing some traveling solo … Trying to stimulate my creativity as much as impossible. The idea of an album is not so stressful after doing the mixtape. I’m really looking forward to it and seeing what happens, seeing what comes out.”

It seems the exercise has helped Streten as he now tells Billboard he's on a mission to record an album in four months. Until then, he's doing his best to keep up his creative spirit in the meantime.

Subtronics Drops Excision Collab at HiJinx 2019

Subtronics just unveiled his biggest collaboration yet.

Subtronics has been on an absolute tear in 2019, and he spent his latest performance testing out his biggest track to date. The Philadelphia DJ/producer played an as-yet-unnamed Excision collaboration at the 2019 edition of HiJinx.

A theatrical buildup precedes metallic, bone-rattling bass wobbles in the song debut captured on video by a fan. In the second half of the clip, Subtronics (real name Jesse Kardon) double drops it with TYNAN and Kompany's VIP of "Extraterrestrial."

Having made a name for himself with the famous Now That's What I Call Riddim mixes, Kardon's recent work with numerous bass music mainstays is an indication of how far he's come. In the past six months alone, he's collaborated with the likes of Rusko, NGHTMRE, GRiZ and Zeds Dead.

HiJinx will conclude tonight, December 28th, with performances by Skrillex, Porter Robinson and Excision himself, who will play a back-to-back set with SLANDER
