Iconic Electronica and Funk Musician Thundercat Says He Has a Full Album with Mac Miller

"It exist."

Prolific electronica and jazz fusion musician Thundercat dropped a Twitter bomb on Friday, July 31st with a simple two-word tweet about the late hip-hop star Mac Miller.

After a fan tweeted, "Imagine if [Thundercat] and [Mac Miller] did an entire album together," the Grammy Award-winning record producer replied with a succinct yet far from ambiguous confirmation. "It exist," he wrote.

The tweet flung Twitter headlong into a fever pitch, of course, as a legion of users replied in the thread and asked him to release the music. It wasn't long before Thundercat, who dedicated his April 2020 It Is What It Is LP to Miller's memory, followed up with a response to extinguish the babel. "Everything isn’t meant to be put out like that," he wrote. "Me and Mac worked on a lot of different things. He did as he saw fit y’all gotta relax lol. Bout to get my emotions flying all over the place.”

Thundercat remained a frequent collaborator of Mac Miller prior to his tragic death in 2018 at the age of 26. He appeared on the 2013 single "In the Morning," among other features, and played bass and contributed vocals to "What's the Use?" from Miller's fifth studio album Swimming, the final record to be released during his lifetime. They also performed a rare live set for NPR's "Tiny Desk" concert series, which you can watch in full below.

BIJOU Drops Star-Studded Debut Album "Diamond City"

BIJOU paid homage to G-House and the city that made him.

BIJOU has been a driving force in revitalizing the G-House sound, ushering in a new era of the genre. He's now unleashed his dynamic debut album to the world, titled Diamond City. Released on his very own Do Not Duplicate Recordings, the album spans 15 tracks, traversing multiples genres while still keeping his signature hip-hop and house flair in each production.

"Two years of blood, sweat and tears.. Diamond City is a piece of my heart that represents the city I come from: PHOENIX," said BIJOU in a press release. The result of those two years is an impressive tracklist of high-energy, in-your-face productions that will turn even the meekest of wallflowers into dance-floor mainstays. He keeps things fresh throughout the record's entirety with notable joint efforts with artists such as Party Favor, Denzel Curry, Cuban Doll, and frequent collaborator Dr. Fresch.

It's always inspiring to see artists' dreams come true. Prior to Diamond City, BIJOU was just a kid handing out flyers and selling tickets in Phoenix. He now has a billboard in that same city. The road to Diamond City may have come with struggles, but the reward was definitely worth it.

Insomniac Officially Pulls the Plug On EDC Las Vegas, Announces 2021 Dates

EDC Las Vegas is the latest major festival brand to bite the bullet due to the impact of COVID-19.

Insomniac has officially pulled the plug on the 2020 edition of EDC Las Vegas due to the impact of COVID-19.

Insomniac boss Pasquale Rotella took to Instagram to share the solemn news. "Some have questioned why we haven’t postponed yet & I want to let you know what we’ve been up to," Rotella wrote. "The team & I have spent the last several months working to create a plan that would allow us to produce a safe event for you. We wanted to implement a free two-step testing program, one test at home before traveling to Las Vegas & another test at the venue when you arrived, in addition to many other enhanced safety protocols. Unfortunately, we just learned that the medical advances necessary to pull this off will not be ready in time, which is why I’m making this announcement today."

EDC fans can take solace in the fact that Rotella also went on to announce the festival's rescheduled dates of May 21st to 23rd, 2021. "We are officially postponing EDC Las Vegas 2020 & will be returning May 21+22+23 of 2021 to celebrate 25 years of EDC," he continued. "To everyone who chose to hang onto their ticket & stick with us during this time, THANK YOU! You’re the most amazing community I could ever hope to be a part of. It means the world to me. We would not be able to do any of this without your support."

Current pass-holders' tickets will be valid for the 2021 edition of EDC Las Vegas. However, those who wish to request a refund can do so here with a deadline of August 16th, 2020. Any tickets for next year's event that become available will go back on sale Thursday, August 6th at 10AM PT (1PM ET).

You can read Rotella's statement in full below.

Listen to G Jones and EPROM's Mind-Bending B2B Set from Lollapalooza's Virtual Edition

The bass music tandem brought nothing but gas.

Following their monumental joint performance at Lollapalooza's first (and hopefully last) virtual edition, EPROM and G Jones have uploaded the mind-bending B2B set in full.

The experimental bass producers brought nothing but gas, reinforcing the notion that they are both at the forefront of trap and dubstep sound design. Traversing the darkest valleys of bass music, the tandem dropped many of their own originals, like "Soundtrack to the Machine" and "Regis Chillbin," in addition to a bevy of tracks from their electronic compatriots, like Aphex Twin's "Window Licker" and Special Request's "Spectral Frequency."

Prior to the virtual concert, G Jones and EPROM divulged that they would be debuting "a bunch of unreleased edits" during the performance, delivering on their promise with a few rip-roaring unreleased IDs. You can check out the set in full below.

Watch Diplo's Full "Higher Ground" Fortnite DJ Set

Diplo put a bow on his summer Fortnite residency with a sultry deep house set.

Diplo is now a regular in the Fortnite world, and his latest foray into the Epic Games linchpin was yet another step forward for the increasingly robust gaming and EDM crossover space.

The Grammy Award-winning dance music producer appeared in the final show of his summer Fortnite residency last Friday, July 31st, placing a cherry on top of a sensational series of streams within the game's "Party Royale" mode. While Diplo's past performances saw him assume his country alias, Thomas Wesley, and join his moombah-pop trio, Major Lazer, his final concert was operated under the umbrella of his Higher Ground record label.

Diplo's set featured the sultry deep house sound that is synonymous with his Higher Ground banner, like Kyle Watson's "Radiate," Chris Lake and Solardo's "Free Your Body," and KUU's "How Could I Ever," the debut track from the newly minted duo comprised of fellow Grammy winners Riton and Alex Metric.

In addition to character skins and back bling, players who tuned in also received a new music-reactive weapon wrap. You can check out the wrap and watch "Diplo Presents: Higher Ground" below.
