Skrillex's Set at Remote Utopias This Weekend Is a B2B with Noisia

Skrillex and Noisia may just save 2020.

After Skrillex was recently announced as one of the performers at the 24-hour radio takeover event Remote Utopias, the EDM world went into a frenzy. Skrillex has hosted a few livestreams over the course of the pandemic, but they were more geared towards interaction with his fans and fellow producers as opposed to a full-blown DJ set.

That is set to change this Sunday, when Remote Utopias will be hosting Skrillex for a B2B set with famed electronic act Noisia at the 24-hour radio takeover event hosted by NTS Radio. According to the official NTS Radio mobile app, which shared the event's schedule, a Skrillex B2B Noisia set is planned on Sunday, May 3rd at 3:45AM.

As of the time of writing, there is no word on whether it will be a new live set or a re-broadcast of an old set, like this one.

Jauz Flashes His Tastemaker Talent with Latest Bite This! Compilation

The compilation features 10 brand new tracks from various artists.

Jauz's Bite This! imprint has released its latest compilation of new tracks, aptly titled First Bites Vol. 2. 

Jauz has proven over the course of his career that he's got an ear for great music, and First Bites Vol. 2 reinforces that notion, as the LA-based producer has curated yet another collection of infectious tunes to broadcast to his loyal following.

The 10-track EP is as diverse as it gets while still staying true to the label itself. Duke & Jones produce some heavier sounds while Blossom provides a Nightbass vibe. Saint Punk, Schade, Kendoll, and a handful of other talented young guns also are also featured on the EP. Those who enjoyed First Bites Vol. 1 or the majority of music released on Bite This! will certainly gravitate towards this compilation.

Bite This! has grown steadily and quickly since it first launched in 2017. Since it's inception, the label has released tracks and EPs from a diverse collection of artists, including Dubloadz, Holy Goof, Axel Boy, Tynan, and many more. At the beginning of this year, Jauz released his Dangerous Waters EP via Bite This!

MASTERIA Drops Menacing "Undergound" EP on Confession

MASTERIA also teamed up with EDM.com for a forthcoming virtual album release party.

It's no secret that Detroit harbors an arsenal of promising house music talent. Many of the genre's pioneering artists contributed its most crucial early developments in Detroit, and the city has been pumping out prodigies like a broken printer ever since.

Enter MASTERIA, the rising house producer out of Motor City who today unveiled Underground, a sublime house EP released via Tchami's highly coveted Confession banner.

Kicking things off with "Murder," MASTERIA wastes no time by offering up a monster intro number with crisp breaks and a menacing vocal sample, which build and eventually culminate in a rumbling drop that dissolves elements of both tech and bass house into one crunchy arrangement. He follows with the project's titular track "Underground," using the same hypnotic formula to unload a booming house tune with ferocious bass patches in its drops, which are layered beautifully over textured saws. Closing out the EP with a collaborative cherry on top, MASTERIA taps fellow house young gun Ekonovah for "Elusive," a foot-tapping house bomb akin to label-head Tchami's antecedent future flair.

“Underground was one of the tracks where the vocals really spoke to me on this EP," said MASTERIA in a press statement. "I’m all about the underground music in the dance scene, and that is exactly the vibe I wanted to capture with these tracks.”

To celebrate Underground, MASTERIA has teamed up with EDM.com for an exclusive digital release party. The livestream event will go down via EDM.com's Twitch channel at 10PM ET (7PM PST) tomorrow, May 2nd.

Party Favor Shows Out with Five Crisp Tracks on New "FRESH LAUNDRY" EP

The EP features three new tunes as well as two previously released ones.

Party Favor returns with his latest EP, Fresh Laundry, out via his own Area 25 imprint. 

FRESH LAUNDRY kicks off with the synth-heavy namesake tune, continuing the course that Party Favor's debut album Layers set him on last year. Next up is "HAPPEE," which brings fans to a housier side of the project that includes RUNN's vocals, snappy percussion, and a dramatic guitar outro. Party Favor places "ONCE MORE" with Georgia Ku and "ALIEN PARTY" featuring Yung Pinch right after, which both released earlier this year. FRESH LAUNDRY comes to a climactic end with his Wes Period collaboration, "SWITCHUP." Closing out the EP in style, Period's smooth verses mesh effortlessly with the horns that make up the drops.

Party Favor first catapulted into the spotlight with the release of his single "Bap U" in 2014. His career has blossomed not only within the dance music scene but also in the mainstream, as the Manhattan-born producer has collaborated with the likes of Dillon Francis, Diplo, and Baauer, as well as A$AP Ferg, Juicy J, and Gucci Mane. Last year, Party Favor released his debut album Layers to an abundance of support in the EDM world and beyond.

iHeartRadio Prom to Include Live Sets from Diplo, Marshmello, Martin Garrix, and More

This is the prom of the decade.

iHeartRadio has announced the lineup for their prom livestream event, hosted by Dua Lipa and Jojo Wright. 

Atop the bill are some of the biggest names in dance music, including Martin Garrix, Marshmello, and Diplo. Those tuning in will also be treated to livestream performances from Joe Jonas, will.i.am, Dillon Francis, and Loud Luxury, among others. The treats don't stop here, however, as iHeartRadio has pulled out all the stops for the class of 2020. Revelers will also receive special messages from a slew of additional artists such as John Legend, Noah Cyrus, Sofia Carson, Sabrina Carpenter, and Trevor Daniel. The first slow dance of the night will be spearheaded by Lewis Capaldi, who will be performing his song "Before You Go." 

Those attending the virtual prom can submit photos of their outfits via social media by using the hashtags #iHeartProm and #iHeartDuaLipa. Submitting participants will also be entered to win a virtual meet and greet with Dua Lipa after the live stream.

KAYTRANADA Drops Moody Video for Masego Collaboration "Need It"

"Need It" serves as the third music video from his sophomore LP.

KAYTRANADA has debuted the music video for his Masego collaboration "Need It." 

The "Need It" music video starts off with two men making an exchange in a nightclub bathroom while thumping bass creeps through the walls surrounding them. As the track begins to play, the pair make their way across the dance-floor to confront another group of men.

The vibe of the track is in clear juxtaposition to the color scheme that accompanies the video, as a chilled out blue hue is placed up against an intense brawl that escalates into a well-choreographed dance battle. The moody tone of the music video should strike a familiar note for those who also viewed his videos for "10%" and "PUFF LAH."

KAYTRANADA has become one of the most sought after beatmakers in the game since launching his career in 2010. His debut album, 99.9%, was packed with massive features, including tracks with AlunaGeorge, GoldLink, Anderson .Paak, and Little Dragon, among others. KAYTRANADA's sophomore album, Bubba, dropped in December of last year to high praise.

Don Diablo Is Taking Over EDM.com's Instagram Live for "Story Time With Don Diablo" Tomorrow

Don Diablo will interact with fans, showcase his hot-off-the-press comic book, and debut a brand new song called "Voices."

Future house kingpin Don Diablo will be taking over EDM.com's Instagram tomorrow, May 1st, for a special "Story Time With Don Diablo” session. Fans can tune in for a special hourlong live session where the Dutch producer and DJ will debut his new single "Voices" and talk about his comic book series, Hexagon.

Debuting his latest release, "Voices," Don Diablo will take us back to his signature future house sound and bring a little bit of nostalgia to classic rock fans with a sample from Sting and The Police. During the live session, he'll delve into the inspiration and creation of the track, and also answer questions from fans.

In March, Don Diablo unveiled the first issue of his comic book series, Hexagon, before releasing the second edition recently. Influenced by his sci-fi favorites, the 80's Star Wars and The Last Starfighter, the story follows a 12-year-old boy named Don who wins an unbeatable video game and unknowingly summons an intergalactic war to his doorstep.

Created and written alongside Impact Theory founder Tom Bilyeu and award-winning writer Michael Moreci, the comic book series debuted at the New York Comic Con last October and has since an abundance of support from readers of all ages. 

During "Story Time With Don Diablo," the Dutch dynamo will showcase his favorite artwork from Hexagon and the story behind the comic book series and its creation. He will also offer fans an exclusive link for a free digital download for the first issue, provided by Impact Theory.

Between the new track and comic book series, Hexagonians are in for a treat.
