MXL 990 Mic pitting the Blue Icicle Versus Focusrite Scarlett 2i2

Do you need a high end DAC interface for your Large Diaphragm Condensor Microphones or can you get away with a less expensive one? Watch this video and you may find your answer. I put the inexpensive Blue Icicle interface against the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, the Scarlett is three times the price of the Icicile but does it preform three times better? Have a listen for yourself and make your own decision. Best to listen via headphones to avoid missing any subtle differences.I use the MXL 990 mic on both interfaces. I used Poser to create this lip synched talking head but seem to have buggered it up somewhere along the way alas.I used the Wingard Popgard Pop filter on the MXL 990 to try to avoid any plosives.

Z camera E1 interchangeable lens 4K on the cheap

Looks like Kickstarter Z Camera is looking to give GoPro a run for its money with its new E1 camera. About the size of a GoPro but with a Micro 4/3 interchangeable lens mount. Alas the Kickstarter early bird camera's have all been snapped up. $500 for a 4K interchangeable lens camera would be nice.

Tho I do see Samsung NX-500's on eBay now sans kit lens for $344, this isn't much bigger and also does 4K footage.

Lilliput MoPro 7" GoPro monitor

Well this sounds quite interesting, Lilliput has a 7" 1280*800 pixel monitor you open up and put your GoPro. 3 or 4 in and has a tripod mount on bottom. I may have to try to get a hold of one of these to review. Amazon has them on their site Lilliput Mopro 7 Inch X-Sports Camera Monitor with 2600mAh Built-in Battery for DSLR GoPro Hero 3+ / 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011HTSZD6/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_1GdUvbZYCEKMQ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011HTSZD6/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_1GdUvbZYCEKMQ

Tarot First Look at Mad Mohawk Films

Taking a first look at a Tarot App for the iPad, I think I shall make Tuesdays our Tarot/Horoscope and similar app day tho at some point I'll do some spreads using some of the Gorgeous Tarot decks that are out there. This app works well, the Graphics could be nicer but they are serviceable and the explanations of the cards are pretty clear and straight forward.

Mortal Kombat X for iPad First Look at Mad Mohawk Gaming

Tonight we are taking a first look at Mortal Kombat X for the iPad. The graphics look incredible, leaps and bounds ahead of what I remember on the old Sega Genesis system that I played this on last. The opening video and the initial game play is quite promising. Tho the iPad mini original generation I have is a bit underpowered for this game so keep that in mind if you have an older iPad or iPhone. Tried to Play Jurassic World on this first generation iPad mini and it wouldn't even run.

It's not the smoothest nor best tripod around but with a max capacity of 18 pounds , built in fluid head and 10 year warranty you can't go far wrong with this at this price.

Sony SEL16F28 on Sony A5100 with and without the Vivitar 43 Wide Angle Adapter on it

This week we take a look at the Sony SEL16F28 on the Sony A5100 camera. We shoot it normally and then add a Vivitar .43 Wide Angle Adapter on the end of it bringing the apparent Field of View to about 10mm after taking into account the Crop Value due to the APS-C sized sensor. I do have to remember to NOT keep the selfie screen on the A5100 flipped up as it was distracting me from proper eye line. Thanks for visiting!
